Who We Are
Sangeetalahari is a volunteer-led organization founded in 2001 with the vision to preserve and promote Indian classical music — especially among children and youth growing up in the United States.
At the heart of Sangeetalahari is our founder, Krishnaveni Vedula Sarma, who has worked tirelessly with dedicated volunteers to organize and execute every single event with care and community spirit. Her passion and perseverance have helped build a trusted platform for hundreds of young performers and their families.
Our Origins
What began as a grassroots effort to create more opportunities for young musicians to perform has grown into a well-recognized community platform, known for its consistency, dedication to cultural values, and nurturing environment.
Vision for the Future
As we approach our 25th anniversary, Sangeetalahari is evolving — blending tradition with technology to make participation easier, improve artist collaboration, and reach new audiences. A new core team of passionate volunteers is helping drive this transformation through automation, digital tools, and strong community partnerships.
